Gillian Welch & David Rawlins

Longtime musical collaborators Gillian Welch and David Rawlings met at Berklee College of Music in the ’90s, and went on to develop a distinctive style that The New Yorker’s Alec Wilkinson called “not easily classified—it is at once innovative and obliquely reminiscent of past rural forms.” They’ve worked together since her debut release, Revival (1996), and most recently released Woodland (2024) with its single “Empty Trainload of Sky.” In 2026, they’ve also been performing the Grateful Dead’s acoustic Reckoning album live.
