My Morning Jacket

Founded in 1988, Louisville, Kentucky’s My Morning Jacket (vocalist/guitarist Jim James, bassist Tom Blankenship, guitarist Carl Broemel, drummer Patrick Hallahan, keyboardist Bo Koster) are rooted in rock and country, but frequently go exploring. Their 2005 breakthrough album Z (one of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time” according to Rolling Stone) recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, and they’ve just released is, their first full-length in recent years. Once again they’re expanding the limits of their sound and elevating their artistry, delivering what may well be the most masterfully realized work yet from a band fully committed to their belief in music as a conduit for revelation of all kinds.
