¿Qiensave?

¿Qiensave? is more than a band, it is the story of the Brothers Cortez—Carlos, Mario, Ricardo, and William—and a musical journey that has grown alongside their family, their community, and their roots. Starting in Salinas in 2009, with deep ties to Michoacán, Mexico, the brothers built ¿Qiensave? around the sounds they grew up with, while allowing their individual influences and perspectives to shape something distinctly their own. Their signature “Cumbia Urbana” sound seamlessly fuses traditional Mexican cumbia with the raw energy of rock, reggae, hip-hop, and more, refusing to be confined by tradition or genre. As their music continues to evolve, so does ¿Qiensave?, not by leaving their roots behind, but by expanding what those roots can grow into. After recent collaborations with with Grammy-nominated nu-cumbia innovator El Dusty for Reanimación, and with Chuck Prophet on Wake The Dead, they’re on to the next chapter with their new album, Así Las Cosas.
