The Third Mind

The Third Mind are Dave Alvin  (Grammy-winning songwriter and guitar master; founding member of The Blasters),  Victor Krummenacher (veteran alternative bass player, founding member of Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker), Jesse Sykes (luminous vocalist and songwriter from Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter,  Michael Jerome (powerhouse drummer from Better Than Ezra, Richard Thompson, Slash),  Mark Karan (guitar great from RatDog, The Other Ones, Mickey Hart’s band Planet Drum, and Phil Lesh and Friends), and Willie Aron (legendary LA musician on keyboards, currently founder of Thee Holy Brothers). They’ve joined forces to take a trip back to the psychedelic folk/rock sound of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Hailed as a “must-see” performance by the San Francisco Chronicle, The Third Mind made their live debut at the 2023 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival, which CBS News Bay Area proclaimed “a spectacular performance.” Since then they’ve released five albums, including their most recent, companion albums Spellbinder + Right Now!
