Greg Wynn

We are devastated by the passing of our beloved Greg Wynn. Gregory “Greg” Wynn, age 54, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14 , 2024 with his family and close friends by his side. For the past two years Greg fought cancer with determination, grace, and bravery.

Greg was born in Sunnyvale and earned his bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University. Greg had a love of music since childhood, and after graduation, pursued a career in the music/entertainment industry. Greg began his career working in Artist Hospitality at Shoreline Amphitheater, where he thrived in the hectic backstage performance environment. From there, he proceeded to work for Bill Graham Presents, and the Great American Music Hall. Using his talents, he worked in the promotion department at KFOG radio station and was the Director of Business Development at SLO.

Greg’s lifelong experience prepared him to become the Executive Producer for Genentech employee celebrations, and for the last 19+ years, he found his true home, working for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, (HSB). Greg proudly assumed the role of Operations Producer of HSB, where he found a team of people, who became his chosen family.

Greg was predeceased by his father, Tom Wynn and is survived by his loving mother, Nika Wynn, sister, Veronica Wynn (Marcel Duvekot), niece, Nina, and nephew, Matthew. Greg also leaves behind many close friends, all of whom have been instrumental in his life; he left an indelible mark on everyone and will forever be missed. The family would like to thank his friend and caregiver, Phillip Grogg, as well as the Hellman family, and the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass staff, who were extremely supportive and generous in Greg’s battle with cancer.
